Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 13, 2026

Ewing Avenue Baptist Church (“the church”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.

It covers this website only — ewingabc.org. It does not describe the church’s own records of its members and their families, which are kept and handled separately from the website.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, the subject you choose, and the message you write. We use it to respond to you. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not add you to any mailing list unless you ask us to.

Prayer requests and other sensitive messages. The contact form lets you send a prayer request. Anything you write in a message is seen by the church staff or ministry leaders who need to act on it — a prayer request is shared with the pastoral team so that it can be prayed over. Prayer requests are not published, read aloud, or shared beyond that team unless you ask us to share them. Please only send what you are comfortable putting in an email.

Information collected automatically. Like almost all websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information about each request — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time. These logs exist to keep the site running and to detect abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

Giving. We do not collect or store payment details. See “Giving through Tithe.ly” below.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies of its own, and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. We do not track visitors between pages or across other websites.

Two third parties are involved, and only in specific circumstances:

  • Cloudflare Turnstile protects the contact form from automated spam. It sets no cookies and is not used to track you.
  • Tithe.ly runs our giving. Opening the giving window loads Tithe.ly’s own software, which does set cookies — these are necessary to process a donation securely. If you never use the giving button, Tithe.ly sets nothing.

Giving through Tithe.ly

Donations are handled entirely by Tithe.ly, a third-party giving platform. When you give, your name, contact details and payment information go directly to Tithe.ly and are processed under their privacy policy and security standards — the church never receives or stores your card or bank details, and this website does not see them at any point.

The church receives a record of gifts for its own accounting and giving statements.

Tithe.ly is an independent company and we do not control how they operate. Please read their privacy policy at tithe.ly before giving.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We use a small number of service providers to run the website, our email and our giving. They process information on our behalf:

Provider Purpose
Cloudflare Website hosting, content delivery and spam protection
Tithe.ly Online giving and donation processing
Email provider Where contact form messages are received

We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we need to protect the safety of a person or the integrity of our systems.

How long we keep it

Messages sent through the contact form are kept in church email for as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record. Giving records are kept as long as required for accounting and tax-statement purposes. Server logs are short-lived.

If you would like a message you sent us deleted, ask and we will.

Security

We use HTTPS across the whole site, and established providers for hosting, email and giving. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please do not send confidential financial information through the contact form. Giving should always go through the Give button, which is encrypted end to end.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, provide a copy, correct it, or delete it. You will not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Children

Our ministries include children, and we take that seriously. This website does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. We ask that children do not submit the contact form themselves — a parent or guardian should make contact on their behalf. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Information collected in person for children’s ministry programs — registration and permission forms — is handled by the church directly and is not covered by this policy.

Our site links to other websites, including Tithe.ly. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
